How it works
Upload. Confirm. Clean.
Erazely never removes anything blindly. It suggests, you decide, and only then does the image get rebuilt.
01
Upload
Drop, paste or choose a JPG, PNG or WEBP image.
02
Detect
Erazely scans for possible watermarks, logos and text.
03
Confirm & refine
Accept a suggestion, or paint and box the area yourself.
04
Reconstruct
The selected area is rebuilt from its surroundings.
05
Compare & download
Check it side by side, then download in full resolution.
Step 3 is the difference: you stay in control of exactly what gets removed.
Assisted detection
Let Erazely find the mark
Instead of making you paint everything by hand, Erazely suggests areas that may contain a watermark, logo, text or date stamp.
Text overlays and captions
Semi-transparent watermarks
Corner logos and badges
Film-camera date stamps
You stay in control.
Erazely suggests a region, but you decide what gets removed. Every suggestion can be confirmed, ignored or refined.

Reconstruction
More than blur. Real reconstruction.
Many watermark removers simply blur the mark. Erazely uses PatchMatch, a patch-based inpainting algorithm, to rebuild the selected region from matching texture elsewhere in your image.

04Clean image
Blur
Smears the mark into a soft, obvious patch.
Clone stamp
Copies one nearby area by hand and often repeats visible patterns.
Erazely
Blends many matching patches from the scene so texture and edges line up.
Erazely generates a plausible reconstruction of the selected area. It doesn’t recover the original hidden pixels — nothing can — so it’s designed to make the repair blend in naturally.
Honest expectations
Best results depend on the image
Reconstruction works from what’s around the mark. The more context it has, the better the result. For large marks over important details, plan on a quick manual refinement.
Strongest when
The mark is small compared to the image
The background around it has useful detail
The selection covers the mark accurately
The mark isn’t covering faces or key details
May need refinement
Large marks covering important details
Marks crossing faces, hands or text you want to keep
Busy, repeating patterns like fabric or brickwork
Very small or heavily compressed images
Your images are yours.

About Erazely
A free watermark remover that respects your photos
Erazely is a free online watermark remover and image cleanup tool. Upload a photo, mark the watermark, logo, text or object you want gone, and Erazely fills the area with detail taken from the rest of the picture. There’s no account to create and no software to install — the editor opens right in your browser.
How to remove a watermark from a photo
Drag an image onto the editor, paste it from your clipboard, or pick a file from your computer or phone. Erazely scans the picture for likely watermarks, logos, captions and date stamps and outlines what it finds. Confirm a suggestion with one click, or select the area yourself: paint with the brush, draw a box with the rectangle tool, or click a solid-colored mark with smart select. Mark as many areas as you need, then press Remove. Drag the before-and-after slider to preview the result, keep editing if a faint trace remains, and download the cleaned image.
Private by default: no upload needed
In local mode, detection, selection and reconstruction all run on your own device. Your photo is decoded inside the browser tab, cleaned there, and the download is created there too. Images aren’t uploaded to Erazely servers for processing, so there’s nothing to delete afterwards. That makes Erazely a practical private watermark remover for personal photos and client work. Read how we handle images.
What PatchMatch does
Erazely uses PatchMatch, a patch-based inpainting algorithm. It searches the rest of the image for small patches that match the texture around your selection, copies the best matches into the gap, and blends them from coarse to fine so edges, gradients and repeating texture line up. It’s a well-established image-processing technique rather than a neural network, so it doesn’t invent new objects or faces — it borrows texture that’s already in your photo. Unlike a blur filter, it replaces the marked pixels instead of smearing them, which is why it works best when the surroundings have texture to borrow: sky, walls, fabric, grass or a studio backdrop.
Supported formats, limits and export
Erazely accepts JPG, PNG and WEBP images up to 25 MB. Photos larger than 4,096 px on the long edge are scaled down to that size before editing, and pixels outside your selection are left untouched. Export the result as a lossless PNG, a smaller JPG or a compact WEBP, or copy it to your clipboard in browsers that support it. Cleaning a document instead? Use the PDF watermark remover.
What to expect from the result
No watermark eraser can recover the original pixels hidden under a mark — the result is a plausible reconstruction. Small and medium marks on backgrounds with plenty of detail usually disappear in one pass. Large, opaque watermarks over faces, text or busy patterns may need a tighter selection, a second pass or some manual touch-up. Invisible watermarks and metadata are not detected or removed.
More than a watermark eraser
The same editor powers dedicated tools: the object remover for people and clutter in the background, the text remover for captions and date stamps, the logo remover for branding on your own product shots, and photo cleanup for dust, specks and scratches. Use Erazely on images you own or have permission to edit — your photography, product images, screenshots and archived family pictures.
How can I remove a watermark from an image for free?
Open Erazely’s free Watermark Remover, upload your image and let detection highlight the watermark, or paint over it yourself. Click Remove and Erazely rebuilds the area from the surrounding pixels, then download the clean image. The free plan needs no account or sign-up.
How do I remove a watermark from a photo online?
Erazely runs in your web browser, so there’s nothing to install. 1) Upload a JPG, PNG or WEBP photo. 2) Select the watermark with auto-detection, the brush or a box. 3) Click Remove and review the result, adding a second pass if needed. 4) Download as PNG, JPG or WEBP. It works on desktop and mobile browsers.
Can I remove a watermark without uploading my image?
Yes. In the current version, detection and reconstruction run entirely in your browser, so your image is never uploaded to Erazely servers. Open the image, remove the watermark and download the result — the file never leaves your device.
How do I remove text from an image without cropping it?
Use the Text Remover. Brush over the caption, label, overlay or date stamp and Erazely fills the area with reconstructed background instead of cutting it away, so your framing and resolution stay the same. Text that crosses fine detail, like a face, may need a tighter selection or a second pass.
How can I remove a logo from a picture?
Open the Logo Remover, draw a box around the logo or click it with smart select, then click Remove. Corner logos on simple backgrounds usually clean up in one pass; logos over busy detail may need a tighter selection. Only remove logos from images you own or have permission to edit.
How do I remove unwanted objects from a photo?
Use the Object Remover and paint over the object — a person in the background, a sign, a wire or a stray item — including its shadow. Erazely reconstructs the area from the surrounding texture and lighting. It works best on small to medium objects.
How can I remove a watermark without losing image quality?
Erazely only changes the pixels inside your selection — everything else is left exactly as it was. Keep the selection tight around the watermark, and download as PNG for lossless output. Images keep their resolution up to 4,096 px on the long edge; larger images are scaled to that size before editing.
Which image formats does Erazely support?
Erazely accepts JPG, PNG and WEBP images up to 25 MB, and you can download the result as PNG, JPG or WEBP. PDF documents up to 50 MB are supported in the PDF Watermark Remover.
How do I remove a watermark from a PDF?
Open the PDF Watermark Remover and upload your PDF. Erazely scans every page for watermark layers, stamps and overlays such as “Draft” or “Confidential” and removes them while keeping the text selectable. For watermarks baked into scanned pages, select the mark on that page by hand and Erazely reconstructs it like an image. Then download the cleaned PDF.
What is Erazely?
Erazely is an image cleanup toolkit. Upload an image, mark what you want gone — a watermark, logo, text, date stamp or small object — and Erazely reconstructs that area from the surrounding image.
Can Erazely remove visible watermarks?
Yes. Erazely is built for visible marks such as watermarks, logos and text overlays on images you own or are authorized to edit. Results are strongest on small to medium marks with plenty of surrounding detail.
How does watermark removal work?
You (or Erazely’s detection) select the area containing the mark. That area is treated as missing and rebuilt from the image around it: PatchMatch rebuilds the area from matching patches of the surrounding image. The result is a plausible reconstruction — not a recovery of the original hidden pixels.
Does Erazely blur the watermark?
No. Blurring smears the mark and leaves a soft patch. Erazely replaces the selected pixels with reconstructed detail that matches the surrounding image, then blends the edges so the repair is hard to spot.
Can I manually select the watermark?
Always. Paint over it with the brush, draw a box, click a solid mark with smart select, or refine a suggestion with the eraser. You can mark several areas and remove them in one pass.
Does Erazely remove invisible watermarks?
No. Erazely is designed for visible image elements. Invisible provenance technologies are a different category and are not removed by the tool, and Erazely does not alter metadata-based ownership information.
Are my images stored?
In the current version, no. Images are processed in your browser and are never uploaded to Erazely servers. If we introduce cloud processing, this answer and our privacy page will be updated before it ships.
Is watermark removal legal?
Only remove marks from images you own or are authorized to edit. Removing copyright notices or other ownership indicators from someone else’s work may violate rights or licensing terms. Erazely isn’t a way around licensing, paid previews or creator attribution.
Your image, minus the mark.
