Many PDF watermarks are separate objects layered on top of the page: a “Draft” stamp, a diagonal “Confidential” banner or a faint company mark. How to use the pdf watermark remover

Search for stubborn text
If a stamp isn’t listed, type its words (“DRAFT”, “CONFIDENTIAL”) to find every place it’s drawn.

Compare and download
Flip Before/After to check each page, undo anything you don’t like, then download the cleaned PDF.
Tips for the cleanest result
- Try the found watermarks first — they come out cleanly and leave the rest of the page as it was.
- For scanned PDFs, the watermark is part of the page image. Use “Edit page” to box it, then “Repeat” to apply the same fix to every page.
- Removed something by mistake? Undo steps back one change at a time.
- Check a few pages with Before/After before downloading, especially in long documents.
Good to know
- Password-protected or encrypted PDFs need their protection removed first.
- Pages edited by hand are saved as images, so their text is no longer selectable or searchable.
- Text search only finds text drawn on its own. Watermarks built from shapes or images need the hand editor.
- Digital signatures become invalid once a signed PDF is changed.
Will my PDF still have selectable text?
Yes, when the watermark is a separate layer, stamp or overlay — Erazely removes just that object. Only pages you edit by hand are turned into images.
Can it remove watermarks from scanned PDFs?
Yes, with the hand editor. Open a page, box or paint the watermark, and apply. If the watermark sits in the same place on every page, repeat the fix across all of them in one go.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. Finding and removing watermarks happens in your browser, and the PDF never leaves your device.
Can I remove watermarks from PDFs I downloaded?
Only if you own the document or have permission to edit it. Watermarks often mark licensed or confidential material — removing them doesn’t change who owns it.
Why wasn’t my watermark found?
Some PDFs draw watermarks as ordinary text or flatten them into a scanned image. Search for the watermark’s words, or fix the page by hand.
Is watermark removal legal?
Only remove marks from images you own or are authorized to edit. Removing copyright notices or other ownership indicators from someone else’s work may violate rights or licensing terms. Erazely isn’t a way around licensing, paid previews or creator attribution.
